The LPGA Came to Town & Took the Heart of First Tee

Emily Norell is the tournament director of the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G and played a significant role in the return of the LPGA to Cincinnati . She was nominated by her friend, Jackie Reau at GameDay communications because:

Emily led an all-star team of volunteers, community partners and golf professionals for the return of the LPGA in 2002. Emily is a fearless leader who understands the power of collaboration to achieve success. From the introduction of the tournament, Emily ensured First Tee and the next generation of golfers was involved. It’s important for Cincinnati to have an LPGA tournament to support the game of golf and to showcase the game for girls to see successful professional golfers.

During the tournament, First Tee – GCNKY not only was given the opportunity to benefit from our own concession stand, the 19th Hole behind the 18th green, but we were also given the opportunity to be standard bearers as well. We are so grateful to have received this opportunity and look forward to working with the LPGA for years to come!

Emily was surprised and grateful when awarded with the Heart of First Tee, but we are most grateful to her for making sure our chapter was always in the conversation when she had so many other things that she was juggling. Thank you again Emily and congratulations!!
